Marvin Carter Obituary

Marvin Edward Carter was born December 28, 1931 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma and died October 14, 2015 in Bakersfield, California. He was affectionately known as the "Bee Man" because of his beekeeping business working the fields of Kern County. He loved his family and had varied interest and hobbies. He was a Korean War Veteran, managed Safeway Supermarkets, and worked as a Bus Driver/Custodian for Beardsley School District when he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Doris Carter, daughter Joyce Harris (Bill), son David Carter, daughter Leah Schmidt (Tim), son Ed Carter, and best friend Linda Taylor. The grandchildren were his joy and include James Carter, Michael Schmidt (Haley), Kelsey Deatherage (Darren), Tyler Carter, and Blake Carter. He was also known as Ole Pa by his great grand children Jaedyn, Lainey, Riley, Jules, and Bronson and had plans to plant a garden for them.
Visitation will be held at Basham Funeral Care 3312 Niles Street on Tuesday from 5-8.

Marvin Edward Carter # 2 brother out of 6 brothers. Served U.S.Army, Korean, War Veteran. A hero in the eyes of all who knew him. Passed over the Meadows to where the Bluebonnets Bloom. An Oklahoma birth , Webber Falls Oklahoma. A man of all seasons , loved and lived life to its fullest extend. The 68 years of love with his wife Doris Forrest Carter. "Blue Skies And Happy Landing Marvin" Your little # 4 brother Donald Ray Carter.
