Michael Garcia was born on July 19, 1949 in Bakersfield, California, the son of Albino and Vivian Garcia.
He was predeceased by his father Albino and brother Danny.
He is survived by his mother Vivian Garcia, his daughter Michelle Gaeta, his son Michael Jr., his brother Tom Garcia and wife Ann, his sisters Josie Martin, Cece Brown and husband Randy, and Charlotte Kidd, his grandchildren Braden Bautista, Joshua Garcia, Alyssa Carter, Presley and Haley Gaeta and Ryder and Adilynn Garcia.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Greenlawn SW, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, CA. A reception will follow at Seven Oaks Country Club.
Those who wish to remember Michael in a special way may make a donation to Hoffmann Hospice.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Around the Clock.

What great memories I have of Mike that started on a fishing boat in Canada.. He was very competitive striving for that 30 lb salmon.. His laugh could be heard across the ocean as we strived for tight lines. Paul and I also made a trip to France with Mike and his gorgeous girl friend Julie.. What an amazing time dancing on top of the Eiffel Tower on Bastille day. He found joy in all things great or small.

Mike was such a good friend to me when I need a friend the most just had moved to Bakersfield. He was more of a father figure to me, really. And I know he went out of his way to be there for many people is his live. I am grateful for all the many early runs and many many laughs we had along the way. He was such a good man! Sending love to all his family. I miss my friend, dearly.

So many wonderful long training runs with this guy. We had so much fun laughing at each other or arguing with each other. I will never forget those long miles on the bike path or out on Pistol Range. So many stories. May he forever rest in peace.

Mike trained me for running marathons on the hills above Hart Park. Also new him from high school. What a great guy. So sorry to see of his passing at an early age. I'm sure he will be training in heaven.

Twelve years ago we were lucky to become Mike´s neighbor in Cayucos. Mike was easy to be friends with, his quick wit and sarcasm was accompanied with a warmth and generosity that is already missed. Most weekends when we´d drive up to our house Mike would be sitting on his deck enjoying his beautiful view and he´d chirp out "Must be nice to be a rich farmer!" as we´d get out of the car:)) Mike lived his life to the fullest and God rewarded him with the blessings he deserved. God Bless Mike and his family and thank you for making our lives better Friend.

So sorry to hear about Mike. Shelley and I were able to watch Michelle and MIchael grow through their very early years. Although Mike was very successful in his business life, I see these two as his greatest achievement, his and Joyce´s. I count seven grandchildren. What joy for a grandparent.
