NORMA JEAN RINGOLD

April 8, 1952 - February 5, 2023

Norma Jean McDowell was born in Bakersfield, California to Corley and Beulah Patterson McDowell on April 8, 1952. Norma went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 5, 2023. Norma lived in Wasco, California the majority of her life and received her primary education in Wasco and graduated from Wasco Union High School. She attended and graduated from Bakersfield College, California State University Bakersfield and San Jose State University.

Norma was a substitute teacher from 1976 -1984 in Wasco and also taught at the TAP Preschool in Lost Hills, California. For a span of 39 years beginning in 1984, Norma was owner and operator of Jean & Gene's Care Home.

Norma was married to the love of her life David Leon Williams in 1976. After his death she married Eugene Ringold Sr in 1986 and into this union they were blessed with two sons, Jerrill and Jamiel Ringold. Norma was predeceased by both her husbands and her son Jamiel. Norma was a member of The Outreach for Jesus Christ which is a ministry of Christian women providing support to individuals involved in various crisis situations.

Norma accepted Jesus Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor John Ross Pentecostal Church of God, Wasco, California. Later she united with Macedonia COGIC in Wasco and worked in various offices within the church. Norma attended Apostolic Faith Temple Church of Wasco until her passing.

Norma leaves to carry on her legacy: brother, Carlton McDowell (Emilita) son Jerrell Ringold, nephew Lamont Cole (Rosie) granddaughter Stella Ringold, daughter in law, Larvinna Ringold, God-daughters Davette Henderson, Jessica Thompson and Wanetta Crenshaw. Aunts Iola Wiley, Jeanie Trammell and Zadie Bell Patterson. Two play-sisters, Babette Williams and Beverly Miller (deceased).

We the family thank everyone who showed many expressions of love, concern and kindness to Norma Jean Ringold; including OutReach for Jesus Christ, Brenda Bakies, Kizna Goodie, Apostolic Faith Temple Bishop H. Crenshaw , First Lady Robbie Crenshaw, Macedonia COGIC Pastor Harold Gridiron and First Lady Jamesie Gridiron, Truelight Baptist Church, Pastor Carlos Harrison and First Lady Yolanda Harrison, the McDowells and the Patterson families.

Norma Jean Ringold's Homegoing Celebration was held on February 11, 2023, at Truelight Baptist Church. Norma will be missed by all who worked with her and knew her as a woman with a gigantic heart for anyone with a need.

She was my second mother,Aunt, business partner and friend. I was blessed to be with her in those last minutes, it was just her me . She was at peace knowing she was at home in her bed. We will see each other again with the father. I miss you Mama Jean !
