Robert Richmond Obituary

Robert Scott Richmond 1955 - 2010 Abraham Lincoln said "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." By any measure, the life in the years of Scott Richmond, who passed suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday, February 13, at the age of 54, counted for far more than simply years of life. Scott and his wife Lyndee moved to Tehachapi from Mammoth Lakes in 1983 to take ownership of what became Scott's Autobody. Scott was well regarded and respected in the Tehachapi community as a man of integrity and warmly loved by his large family and many friends. Robert Scott Richmond was born November 20, 1955 in Long Beach, California, at St. Mary's Hospital to Robert and Louanne Richmond. Scott married the love of his life, Lyndee Hensler, February 22, 1975, in Mammoth Lakes, California. They would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this Monday, February 22. We will miss hearing Scott respond "Absolutely" when asked if he would lend a helping hand. The only challenge to having his help was to keep things moving quick enough to avoid hearing him say "I'm loosing interest here." We will miss his common refrain of "Not a problem" to every seemingly impossible situation we asked him to participate in. His wholehearted embrace of every one and everything he connected with will serve as a continual inspiration to all of us who had the privilege to have known him. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert. He is survived by his wife Lyndee and their four children; Phillip and his wife Jeni and four girls; Michelle Black and husband Brian and their two boys; Catherine Kingsbury and husband BJ and their two girls; son Perry Richmond; mother, Louanne Landgraft; sister, Nancy Richmond; and half sister, Terrie Elrod. A memorial service for Scott will be held this Friday, February 19, 1:00 p.m. at Country Oaks Baptist Church in Tehachapi and a private internment will follow at a later date. All those of us who had the honor of knowing this exceptional man will cherish the example of his life as well as the contribution he made to each and every one of us. We look forward to the day ahead when we will see both our Savior as well as our good friend, Scott. Wood Family Funeral Service www.bakersfield.com/obits

My brother will be remembered in my families hearts as the wonderful Uncle Scott. He taught his nephew Bill Elrod, Jr. how to repair the cars he owned. He always shared hugs and smiles with us. We are so very honored to have shared our lives with him. God Bless you Scott, Love to all our family and you as always are in our prayers. See you on Friday as we celebrate the life of our Scott. God Bless and a million hugs, Terrie, Bill Sr., Bill Jr. and Robert.
