Ron was born in Bakersfield, CA. When he was a small boy, his family relocated to Hawaii, where he spent most of his childhood. As a young teen, his family moved back to Bakersfield, where Ron attended BHS and graduated in 1976.
Shortly after high school, he started working in the pool business, where he found his calling. Ron started his own business, Southwest Pools, Inc., in 1985 and built thousands of pools throughout Kern County over the last 35+ years.
Ron enjoyed jamming on his guitar, listening to the blues, and loved the great outdoors.
Ron passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a brief battle with cancer. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy. He is survived by his wife, Kim; son, Nick and wife Jennifer; son, Ryan; parents, Linda and Paul; sister, Susan; and his cherished granddaughter, Tatum.
Other survivors include mother and father-in-law, Lora and Lynn Warfield, sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Steve Nichols; brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Calli Shanley; numerous nieces and nephews; and Kim's cousins, Mike and Mark Shanley.
He will be greatly missed by his lifelong friends, Efren Ramirez, Mike Hill and the whole Johasee Rebar family, and his beloved dog Brody.
A very special thanks to Dr. Rick Gavin for his spiritual guidance over the past few years.
Services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at Grace Bible Church, 5207 Young Street. For condolences, please visit: www.greenlawnm-c.com.

Ron was born a child of God and, for whatever reason, God chose to take him home with Him. Ron was born my little brother and one day God will put us together again. Rest peacefully Ron....with love, may God be with all your friends and family who greatly miss your presence.
