Ronald Young Obituary
Ronnie was born in Bakersfield, Ca on March 30, 1946, to Wesley and Ruth Young. He was the eldest of the three children. Ronnie is survived by his Father; Mother; son, John Young; daughter, Becky Hanby; brother, Mike Young; sister, Karen Dyer; nine grandchildren, Anthony Swope, Joseph Davidson, Jared Davidson, Jay Hanby Jr., Jay Lynn Hanby, Sinjon Shepherd, John Young Jr., Jacob Young and Jewel Young; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Swope and Savannah Swope and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron attended Arvin Schools, and then became an Arvin High graduate in 1964. He was active in all sports, lettering in football, basketball, and baseball, but a special love for baseball will always remain in his heart. After attending Pasadena and Bakersfield Colleges, he enlisted in the US Army doing a tour of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in August of 1968. He worked for his dad before starting a career with Santa Fe Railroad for 25 years until an injury disabled him in 1996. He devoted his life to serving his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
