Ruth Renfro Obituary

RUTH HELEN JACKSON RENFRO

March 11, 1925 January 6, 2023

Ruth was born in a small community outside of Sheridan, Arkansas on March 11, 1925. Her parents were Lee Jackson and Birdie Robinson Jackson. Ruth was the youngest of three children. She had one brother, Milburn Jackson and a sister, Mattie Jackson Dickey.

Ruth grew up in the country and that was where she met the love of her life, Charlie Renfro. Charlie was in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was helping to install electricity to the small community.

Charlie attended the church where Ruth's family attended each Sunday. He asked Ruth's father if he could take Ruth out for a date. The answer was yes and they started dating. They were married about a year later.

Ruth and Charlie had two daughters, Reba Renfro Lancaster and Elfreda Renfro Higgins. They had five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Charlie passed away in 1992. Two years later Ruth met Elwon Williams, a widower at church. Elwon and Ruth were married in 1994. They enjoyed attending church, traveling, and their families. Elwon passed away on December 22, 2021.

Ruth will be missed by all who loved her. She was a stable godly influence in the life of all her family and friends.
