Shelby Dean Sterling Jr.

Shelby was born on July 26, 1967 in Bakersfield, CA to Shelby, Sr. and Linda Sterling. He attended Bakersfield High School where he was a member of the wrestling team.
At 22 years old, Shelby owned and managed the butcher shop at the Countryside Market in Shafter, CA. From there he went on to work for Bernard & Son Meat Co. before starting his 18 year career at Pepsi Bottling Group.
Shelby enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, barbequing, and most of all spending time with his family. Shelby is survived by his wife of 18 years Amy, son Scott Sterling and daughter-in-law Tiffany, grandchildren Lainey and Deagan Sterling, parents Shelby and Linda Sterling, sister Sandra Costa and brother-in-law Michael, brother Travis Sterling and sister-in-law Tonya, nieces Kara, Catherine and Victoria, and nephews Bryce and Blake.
Shelby passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on September 11, 2014. Shelby was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Viewing will be held at Greenlawn Southwest at 9am on Wednesday September 17, 2014 with memorial service to follow at 10am. A reception will be hosted by the family at Bakersfield City Fire Fighters Hall on the southeast corner of Wible Road and Berkshire Road.
