STEPHANIE ANNE DISPOTO
August 18, 1960 May 6, 2023
Colorado Springs Our beloved sister, mother, grandmother and longtime friend to many of her schoolmates, friends and co-workers passed away May 6, 2023 due to cancer. Born in Delano California the fifth of six children to the late Bruno and Mary Jo Dispoto. Stephanie graduated in 1978 from Delano High School and was voted Most Humorous her Senior year. After graduation she moved to the Los Angeles California area where she went to work in the Fashion and Travel Industries. She returned to Delano in the late 1990's where her two daughters Martina and Julianna were born. After a few years there she moved to Colorado Springs Colorado to make a new life for her daughters and herself. Already possessing the gift of gab she charged into the Sales Industry where many found out it was hard to resist her or say no when you had a sales call from Stephanie. She always brought smiles to other co-workers and would always lend a hand or reassurances to her teams. She always had stories of her musical interests starting with The Monkees and David Cassidy which were later followed by Elton John and Bruce Springsteen. Who could resist smiling when she told of her writings for the Davy Jones Newsletter or trips with her children or friends to see her favorites in concert.
Determined to keep her daughters together and provide a loving home she had a network of support from friends, family, and co-workers. Stephanie was a fighter who when faced with a challenge would rise to meet that challenge, never complaining and seek the win/win for all. Her way of having friends everywhere that came in different phases and times they were never far away from a phone call, card, text or e-mail.
Stephanie leaves behind her two daughters Martina Duran (Colorado Springs, CO) and Julianna Valdez (Highlands Ranch, CO) and granddaughter Holly Duran (Colorado Springs, CO). Her remaining siblings include brothers Martin Dispoto (Delano, CA), Bruno Dispoto (Littleton, CO), Roger Dispoto (Colorado Springs, CO), sister Jacqueline Dispoto (Fairbanks, AK). Her sister Julia Jo Dispoto preceded her in death in 2012. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends and co-workers will remember her as well.
A Memorial Service was held May 22, 2023 in Colorado Springs, CO. Final burial and graveside service will be held at 11:00am PST on June 24, 2023 at North-Kern Cemetery in Delano, California.
