Vance Limi Obituary
November 13, 1971 – May 27, 2025
Vance was born in Bakersfield, California, on November 13, 1971, and ended his watch on May 27, 2025, at the Hoffmann Hospice House with family by his side. He attended Franklin Elementary School, St. Francis, and graduated from Garces High School in 1991. After high school, he attended Bakersfield Junior College and graduated from Cal State Bakersfield with a degree in business/finance.
After college he was a Hot Shot hauler for a short time and thereafter worked for a couple maintenance companies and a pool service. Vance liked working outside and not sitting behind a desk. Neither the heat nor the cold seemed to bother him much.
Vance is survived by his parents, Robert and Nadine Limi, Uncle, Greg Limi and family, Aunt, Kathi Brackeen and family and many cousins. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
The Limi family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff at Hoffmann Hospice House for making Vance's last week of life as comfortable as possible. Also, two ladies who helped us through the most difficult time of our lives after losing our son, Vance, Kelly Limi and Mechelle Fadden.

Dear Bob and Nadine
I know this is a very difficult time for you. One of my favorite authors once said that `To loose a child is the most painful experience for mankind´. I believe that is true and my prayer is that God will give you comfort during this time. It is also true that God loves our children more than we do. That is comforting in itself. Hoping that we´ll all be together again in Heaven.

1989: Garces Rams vs the mighty West High Vikings. Vance was the perfect first baseman. I had a short-lived pitching career for the Vikings, and on a particularly tough day on the mound, I ended up at first base where Vance provided counsel and words of encouragement. He was the therapist so many of us needed. He had a kind soul, and I'll always remember him that way.

Dear Bob and Nadine,
I was heartbroken to hear about the passing of Vance. Please accept my deepest condolences during this incredibly difficult time.
Vance and I shared so many years together, from our early days at St. Francis Elementary, through Garces, and on to BC. We were lucky to have a close circle of friends and countless good times together-memories I will always cherish. Vance´s kindness, humor, and friendship left a lasting impression on all of us who knew him.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you find comfort in the love and support of those around you, and in the wonderful memories you have of Vance.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Limi,
I have been a friend to Vance since the year 2000, when we met at 24 hour fitness. I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss my many phone conversations with him discussing whatever was on his mind that day. I called him "Vancelot" because he was such a dear soul. My heart breaks for you.
