Nathanel McElroy Obituary

NATHANEL McELROY SUNTREE Nathanel R. Mac McElroy, 78, died Sunday, November 19, 2006. Born in Casa, Arkansas he was a retired Command Ser geant Major, US Army, serving for 34 years. Mac was high ly decorated and served with dis tinction with the 3rd Infantry (Old Guard), had combat tours in Korea and twice in Vietnam. He was most proud of being an infan tryman and belonging to the Blue Badge Society. While in the Army he served at Ft. Stewart GA, Japan, East Africa, Ft. Hood TX, Ft. Meade MD, Ft. Shafter HI, Arlington Hall Station VA and Vint Hill Farms Station. He enjoyed golfing and volunteering at the Viera VA Clinic. His family includes his wife of 50 years, Billie McElroy; son, Michael McElroy and his wife, Karen and their children, Christopher, Michael, Jessica and Nicholas; son, Doug McElroy and his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Mia; and one brother, J.W. McElroy. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Novem ber 22, 2006 at 2 p.m., at Suntree United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice, 8060 Spy glass Hill Road, Viera Fl 32940. Arrangements entrusted to South Brevard Funeral Home, Melbourne, 724-2222.

Mrs. McElroy,
My wife and I are friends of Mac and Karen and we met you at Mac's retirement. If had only had to judge your husband and you based upon the son that you raised, there is no doubt that no finer people could have ever been joined for so long and made such an impact on the child they raised. Outstanding job! May your husband rest in peace and may your entire family cherish fond memories for generations to come.
