William Cummins Obituary

William "Earl" Cummins July 7, 1927 - June 24, 2013 Earl was born in Paragould, AR, to Chester and Ada Cummins. He served as a corporal in the Army during the Korean War and will be buried with honors. Earl married his sweetheart and best friend, Evelene, in 1953. He proudly worked for Gary Drilling from 1964 until his retirement. He was honored to continue his friendship with Ed Green for many years. When not working or with family, you could find him at Regency Bowling Alley. He was an avid bowler and had a passion for his grandchildren and visiting with friends. Earl is survived by his loving wife, Evelene; children, Mary Harms, Wendell Cummins, Julie (John) Scales, and Bill (Donna) Cummins; grandchildren, Misty, Kevin, Jeramie, Chelsie, Chase, Joshua, Jennifer, and Danielle; and one sister, Violet (Jerry) Wells. He has been preceded in death by numerous loved ones and one great-granddaughter, Alexis. We will miss our Hero, but Heaven has gained a special man. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at Bakersfield Firefighters' Hall, 7320 Wible Road.
