Willie Essary Obituary
He attended Muleshoe High School & later Texas A&M. Willie served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for the Kern County Fire Department for several years but eventually started his own business for over 40 years as a contractor for the US Postal service, where he retired in 2013. He was also a member of the Elks Club of Bakersfield.
A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice staff with special recognition to Robin, Jamie, Sandra & Stacy.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents Oscar & Nellie Essary, his multiple siblings and son Richard Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Delores; daughter Claudia; sons Ron, Miles & Marc; grandchildren Adam, Richard Jr., Chi & Jennifer; special great-nephew Larry; his namesake great-great-nephew Willie; and other nieces & nephews.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 15th from 4:00-8:00 pm; followed by graveside services on Thursday, February 16th at 10:00 am. All being held at Greenlawn Funeral Home (3700 River Blvd).

As I write this I cannot believe it´s been five years since I last saw you. Sure do miss my chocolate she always gave me on Valentine´s Day. I know you´ll be celebrating with mom and that gives me comfort and joy. I think about you every day. I love you Papa.
