Alison Dray-Novey

(1944-2023) Professor of History, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She is predeceased by her mother, Sara Dray, her father, Melvin Dray, and her brother Gary Dray. She is survived by her husband, Michael Novey; her brother Philip Dray (Stephanie Steiker); three children: Joelle Novey (Ethan Merlin), Beth Novey (Dan Suzman), and Sam Novey (Rebecca Hersher); and five grandchildren: Ellis Joseph Merlin, Arden Dray Suzman, Max Sebastian Merlin, Cora Bea Novey, and Gary Wayne Hersher-Novey.

Funeral and service will be private for nuclear family, due to Covid-positive family member. All are invited to remember Alison next month at a memorial service, Sunday afternoon, April 30, in Baltimore. Details to follow. This service will follow the end of shloshim. Shloshim - "thirty" - in Hebrew, marks the first month of mourning.

(www.sollevinson.com) In lieu of flowers, donations in Alison's memory can be made to; American Jewish World Service, online at ajws.org, The Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee, which promotes cultural exchange between the Chinese city of Xiamen and the City of Baltimore. Alison helped prepare Baltimore students for trips to China, online at bxscc.org, or to another organization of your choice.
