I was devastated to learn today that Dr. Shapiro died over the summer. Dr. Shapiro was kind, gentle, caring, and extremely knowledgeable, especially about urological issues with Multiple Sclerosis. I had been going to him since 2013 and he was unfailingly courteous. He never rushed his patients, he gave his full attention to every meeting. The medical world lost a great practitioner in Dr, Shapiro. And I feel as though I lost a friend.

Dr. Shapiro was a expert doctor, who had the gift of giving his patients hope and kindness, as well as medical solutions. He is greatly missed. Our condolences to his wife and children, his entire family, and all the members of Chesapeake Urology practice. I am so grateful for his presence in life.

I just heard from his practice about Dr. Shapiro´s passing a few minutes ago. I am in shock. I remember the first time I heard about him was from my doctors at Hopkins who said that he was "the man" when it came to MS patients with bladder disorders. I had many Botox treatments from him and he was so devoted to urology. You could easily tell. I am so sorry and send condolences to his wife and children. May you find strength and peace in knowing he helped many people.

My heart broke yesterday when I found out about Dr Shapiro. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and patients. I was a patient of Dr Shapiro for many years. I always have and will always say he was my favorite doctor that made the biggest difference in my life dealing with MS. The compassion, understanding and dedication to bringing many people a better quality of life especially from the international spinal cord center and MS community. We would talk about how neurogenic bladder disorders were rarely acknowledged in public forums. He offered speaking engagements and referrals to increase understanding and support. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to have been has patient it changed my life and gave me confidence to keep fighting daily while walking again. Dr Shapiro will be missed! I am thankful God for bringing him into so many lives, heal hearts of his loved ones and give him peace.
