Anne-Marie, known as "AM" by me, was one of a kind! A true gem who loved people and animals, esp cats. She was a very kind hearted soul who was always there for family and friends. She was definitely one of the kindest, smartest, caring, loving people I've ever known. I will always treasure the times and conversations I had with my wonderful and special friend. I miss her terribly and wish she was still here in this life. I believe her transition into eternal life made her go from an earthly angel to a heavenly guardian angel now watching over so many loved ones.
I love and miss you so much my AM! Please give my precious Greka a hug and kiss from me. Until the day we meet again <3

Anne had a deeply and genuinely kind spirit and a practical and intelligent mind. Always gentle, yet incredibly strong, admirably autonomous and resilient in the face of adversity. Quiet but gregarious and avid of discovering and experiencing all that life could give her. A loyal and generous friend throughout the years and in spite of the distance. Anne was a dear friend and colleague of mine from our graduate school days in the same lab at Hopkins. I hold immense gratitude to her for the gift of her friendship sowed during that time, and for nurturing it until now. I have special memories of when Anne came to Chile to visit me and of the very few occasions we met again in Rockville and New York during the last 25 years. Interacting with her was always soothing, a unique quality she imprinted forever in the conversations we sustained with our mutual friend Roderick at the lily pond during our Hopkins days. We sought solace in each other's company in the tranquility of that setting whenever life felt gusty. I will always remember Anne as the embodiment of soothing friendship. My deepest sympathy to her mother Shirley and her brother James. Her final journey is a tremendous loss to many of us. We shall continue to meet at the lily pond...

Anne was a beautiful, special person. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone. She was also so smart, so funny and a joy to be around. She brought smiles to everyone she encountered. She was strong, brave and never complained. She was a rare gem of a human being, and will be missed so much.
