Arnetta Hargrove Obituary

Wife. Mother. Friend. On Saturday, 1/3/15, "Charm City" lost one of it's jewels, Mrs. Arnetta L. Hargrove. Those that knew her well would say that Mrs. Hargrove met no strangers. Although born in Pittsburgh, PA, Baltimore was her home. After graduating from Virginia State University she made Baltimore, MD her home. She met and married Mr. Cluey D. Hargrove and to this union, two children were born, Cluey and Kiara Hargrove. Mrs. Hargrove taught Home Economics in the Baltimore City Schools for 34 years. She was a mentor and surrogate mother to many. She was very active in the Baltimore City community and spent countless hours in "service to all mankind," a motto by which she lived. Mrs. Hargrove was a member of the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and New Shiloh Baptist church. She will be missed by her husband of 50 years, her children, grandchildren, sorority sisters, church family, and a host of relatives and friends. There will be a public viewing for Mrs. Arnetta L. Hargrove 1/11/15 from 2pm-6pm at Vaughn Greene Funeral Home, 8728 Liberty Road. The funeral will be held at New Shiloh Baptist Church, 1/12/15 at 11:00am.

I was saddened to hear of Arnetta's passing. I remember with fondness the fun times we had when we shared an apartment as first year Home Economics teachers. Arnetta had a remarkable sense of humor and always made me laugh. I will miss her, our phone calls, and lunching out .
May the peace and comfort of friends and family see you through this difficult time. I will keep you in prayer.

With my deepest sympathy,
