Arthur Wrede Obituary
Arthur Wrede, age 87, of Joppa, MD., passed away on October 07, 2017. He was the son of Frank and Helen (Slavic) Wrede. Arthur was a carpenter and avid plant lover, who turned his passion into a landscaping nursery; The Azalea Patch. He became a lifetime member of The American Hosta Society, and fulfilled a dream through hybridization of his own hosta plants. Arthur is survived by his children, George, Mary Mc Kaughan and husband Mitchell, Eva Jones, and husband Michael, Penny Wrede-Plato, and her husband Barry, grandchildren Cameron, and Ethan Wrede, Shawn, and Jessica Mc Kaughan, Adam Jones and wife Marena, Adrian, and Taylor Jones; brothers Donald, and Bill, and sister Linda, and was predeceased by his brothers Frank, and Roy and sister Helen. Mr. Wrede's life ended under the watchful care of hospice staff in The Senator Bob Hooper House. In accordance with his wishes, Arthur's remains were cremated by the Cremation Society of Maryland.

We remember many days visiting the Azalea Patch tucked in the shady woods of Joppa. Mr. Wrede was so knowledgeable and loved talking about his prized Hostas and gardening. His beautiful Azaleas loaded with blossoms were a pleasure to see each spring. My deepest sympathy goes out to his children and their families. May he rest in peace in God's beautiful garden.
