Athleen Sexton

1925 - 2018

Odessa Athleen Peterson Sexton (nee Wilson) left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on January 3, 2018 at the age of 92 years. Born to loving parents Ted and Ada Wilson in Yancey County, North Carolina on June 1, 1925.  Athleen is survived by her cherished sisters Lena Farquar, Madge Suddreth, Alma Fox, Kathy Adkins and dear brother Gerald Wilson. She is pre-deceased by her beloved brothers Bruce, Teddie Jr., Boyd and Clarence Wilson and precious sisters Willow Wilson and Doris Jones. Married to "the love of my life, Seth S. Peterson" on May 11, 1942. They were blessed with six children. She is survived by son Ralph Ronald and his wife Barbara Peterson, son Shelby Donald and his wife Margaret Peterson, son Bennie Darrell Peterson, daughter Sharon Kay and her husband Ronald Taylor. Beloved daughters Darlene Marie Loskot and Betty Luann Thomas preceded her in death. After Seth's passing in 1984, Athleen Peterson & George Sexton surprised themselves & fell in love. They married & remained thus until his passing in 2009. Loving Mom-Mom to Michele, Kenneth, Christopher, Timothy, Alex, Lisa, Eric, Ryan (deceased), Heather, Raechel, Keith and Tracy. Adoring Great Grandmom to Shannon, Eion, Kendyl, Lauren, Shelbie, Tyler, Zachary, Billy, Jennifer (deceased), Eric, Max, Harley, Athena, Candice, Amber, Kaitlyn, Nikolas, Jake, Tiffany and Skylar. Darling Great Great Grandmom to Aubrey. Memorial service to be held at 11:00 AM on May 12, 2018 at Middle River Baptist Church, 610 Middle River Rd. Middle River MD 21220. Interment immediately following at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Rd. In lieu of flowers you may donate The Alzheimer's Association.
