Barbara Cook Obituary

Barbara Bell Cook, 63, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 after battling cancer. Born in Baltimore on September 28, 1958, she was the daughter of the late James Milton Bell, Jr. and the late Dorothy Pitt Bell. She was the wife of Giles Carrington Cook, of 28 years. She studied Political Science at USC and went on to open a boutique in Baltimore. She later joined Giles in owning and operating the Eight By Ten Nightclub in Baltimore and Failte Horse Farm in Howard County. She was an avid book reader and enjoyed giving recommendations while also working at Barnes & Noble. Surviving, in addition to her husband, is son Ian Fowble, wife Caitlin and granddaughter Gemma Bell, daughter Jessie Fowble, step-daughter Katarina Cook, and step-sons Giles Cook and Charles Cook. Also surviving are sisters Linda Hart and husband Bill, Patty Coward and husband Wilson, and Karen Bell. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Community Hospice, Bailey Family Center for Caring at Flagler Hospital.
