Benjamin TAYLOE Obituary

TAYLOE , Benjamin O. Benjamin Ogle Tayloe , 95, of Mitchellville, MD, formerly of Montross, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013. He was the widower of Frances Howard Tayloe and a member of Cople Parish. He is survived by his daughter, Helen Lambert and her husband, Michael of Petosaey, MI, and by his son, Benjamin Ogle Tayloe, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Arlington, VA. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Joseph and William Lambert and Emma, Julia, James and Grace Tayloe. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Caroline Lambert.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Yeocomico Episcopal Church, Tucker Hill, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tayloe Memorial Music Fund, PO Box 110, Hague, VA 22469. Online condolences may be made at www.welchfuneralhomeva.com

I was very sorry to learn of Ogle's death. I first met him in Montross through Sheila Hollies and would see him when I visited her at Collington. He was always a true Virginia Gentleman with a ready smile and a twinkle in his eye.
