Anne and family, I was very sad to hear about Bert. I have fond memories of the hospitality you both showed to students and colleagues, especially in your annual fall gatherings. I think of you often as I bike through your old neighborhood. Reading the wonderful obituaries, I marvel at how warm and unassuming Bert was, despite his fame as a scholar. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy.
