Blaine Taylor

Blaine B. Taylor, a Vietnam War Veteran, enlisted in the Army in 1966 and served as a military police officer, passed away April 5, from a stroke at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. Blaine Taylor served with the elite 199th Light Infantry Brigade participating in intense combat and was decorated with the Combat Infantryman Badge among his eleven other decorations. Returning home, Blaine Taylor earned his General Educational Development diploma and went onto what is now Towson University earning a bachelor degree in history. While studying at Towson University, Blaine Taylor met future Maryland State Delegate Jacob J. Mohorovic, Jr. "We kept in touch through the years and became good friends. Blaine was an editor, author, political campaign writer and at times a political candidate and he always reached for the truth", said Mr. Mohorovic. Mr. Taylor was press secretary to the late Representative Helen Delich Bentley from 1991 to 1992. Previous successful press secretary positions included in 1974 (State Delegate) and 1978 (State Senator) for the late Patrick T. Welsh. Blaine Taylor wrote twenty-three books discussing Nazi Germany. His books included "Hitler's Engineers, Masters Builders of theThird Reich" focusing on Albert Speer and Fritz Todd, the "Beer Hall Putsch to Blood Purge 1919 - 1934" discussing Herman Goering, and Hitler's lover and finally wife in "Mrs. Adolph Hitler: The Eva Braun Photograph Albums", and "Kaiser Bill, A New Look at Germany's Last Emperor Wilhelm II (1859 - 1941)". Other Blaine Taylor books included "Dallas 50 Years On: The Murder of John F. Kennedy: A New look at an Old Crime, 22 November 1963 - 2013", "Pearl Harbor" and "Bobby from Robert F. Kennedy to RFK 1925 - 1968: A life on the Way to Death - and Beyond". Mr. Taylor also authored the birth of "The Volkswagen - the affordable "People's Car". "Blaine was a student of history, very intelligent, stylish and quirky ," said longtime friend 5th District Republican Baltimore County Councilman David S. Marks. "He had a deep love for history and politics ". In addition to his personal representative, Jacob J. Mohorovic, Jr., he is survived by longtime friend Doris Kropp of Towson.
