Brown Murr Obituary
Raised in Atlanta, Brown studied chemistry at Emory and Indiana Universities. He joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins in 1962 and retired in 1997, an award-winning teacher, department chair and researcher.
He married Dawn Stewart Murr in 1953, and the couple had two sons, Andrew and Peter, divorcing in 1972. In 1974, he married the love of his life, Joan C. Murr, and the couple enjoyed a lively and enduring 50-year partnership. Joan passed away in March.
Brown is survived by step-daughters Lisa Smith and Marjorie McKibbin; sons Andrew and Peter Murr; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
