John Francis O'Keefe

"BUDDY"

January 8, 1967 - December 21, 2024

John Francis "Buddy" O'Keefe passed away on December 21, 2024, at the age of 57. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 8, 1967, and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Buddy was the youngest of five children of Joseph and Gladys (Schill) O'Keefe.

Buddy's boundless energy and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A true life-force, he cherished his family, friends, and music. As a beloved local DJ, Buddy brought life to countless bars and parties with his expertly curated tunes, captivating stories, and humorous anecdotes.

A devoted member of the Church of the Nativity in Timonium for fifty years, Buddy was actively involved in various men's clubs and organizations. His unwavering commitment to his community and his vibrant spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Buddy is survived by his siblings: Tom O'Keefe and his wife Martha; Kathy Drew and her husband Tom; and Jim O'Keefe and his wife Cheryl. He was predeceased by his brother Joe O'Keefe. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who will carry forward his legacy of joy and generosity.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Buddy's life will be held on what would have been his 58th birthday, January 8, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., at the Church of the Nativity, located at 20 East Ridgely Road, Timonium, MD 21093. A reception will follow at Mt. Washington Tavern at 5700 Newbury Street, Baltimore, MD 21209.

Buddy's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his vibrant spirit continue to inspire those he touched during his remarkable life.

Buddy was a man of many passions, loved his Who music and was always there when you needed him. I knew him on and off for over 50 years and will always remember his high energy, infectious laughter and our long talks about everything under the sun.
