Uncle Matt, Aunt Katy, there aren't enough words to express how joyful it was to be able to spend Cub's last weeks with him. It wasn't coincidence - it was divine design. Y'all are always in my heart. Keep strong, keep your eyes on Him, and never take anything for granted.
With God-given love

To the family of Caleb Stevens,
I was at soccer practice tonight (8/30/05)when I was informed of Caleb's passing. I am in total shock, Caleb was one of the most unforgetable children I have ever had the pleasure of coaching. He was joy to coach and to be around. If you we are measured by how we touch others while we are here, then Caleb's legacy is immeasable. There will always be a place in my heart for him. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do for you guys. Coach Mike

Dear Family of Caleb Stevens,
You are in my prayers in the loss of Caleb. I am a friend of Katy's mother, Sandy Lust, from Delaware, Ohio. We have shared stories of children and grandchildren and I know how much everyone in the family meant to Sandy. Caleb will never be forgotten as you will have wonderful memories to share. May God bless all of you and give you strength. You now have an angel to watch over you.
Sincerely,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know that each of you are in my prayers. Although I have never met any of you, I can't help but smile when I look at Caleb's page in the GTOB website. What an incredible precious child the Lord has taken home. I can just imagine him now, having a wonderful time with our Lord Jesus.
Katy - I sing with your mom in Columbus, and when our chorus heard what had happened that Friday morning, there were many tears shed and many prayers lifted up.
Thank You All for sharing Caleb's life with so many. May God continue to bless each of you always, especially during these difficult days.

Matt, Katie, Joshua, Micha & Jacob:
I just finished watching the DVD of Caleb's Celebration of Life and the power point pictures. Thank you so much for giving that precious gift to all of us. My heart and prayers are with you as you walk through all the emotions. I know the hand of God is on you and all your family. He will continue to strengthen you and reveal the impact that Caleb's life has had on all those he came into contact with. It is wonderful to have access to his pictures as he was in my mind the little boy I was blessed to spend time with many years ago when I visited you in Ohio. You are dear to me and I will continue to keep you in my prayers and hold you in my heart.

To my dearest Stevens Family,
I am overwhelmed with grief and disbelief at the news of our loss but I am equally overwhelmed with a tremendous sense of gratitude for having all of you in my life - It is impossible for us to know God's plans but I am humbled and blessed that He included me in Caleb's journey. The "gift of Caleb" is a treasure I will forever carry in my heart-his smile, his love of learning about God's creations and his incredibly kind heart will forever be an inspiration -the world
is a better place for having had him with us. I pray God's healing hands cradle you all and the miracle
of His love carry you through the bad times. Love, Mrs.Jergensen

Nothing is loss if you know where it is. We all know where Caleb is… ‘Cub’ is singing, dancing and praising His Lord. One day, for those who know the Lord, will meet him again. What a day that will be…A reunion in the Air. To the family, look to the hills from which your help comes. Thank you for your friendship and fellowship.

Dear Matt, Katy and family,
Our prayers are with you all as you cope with the loss of Caleb's physical presence in your lives. His picture speaks volumes, as do the loving messages from those who knew him. He was the real deal and we celebrate, with you, his unique gifts -- and his new home. Wish we were there to really hold you all tightly, but know you are in loving and stronger arms than ours! Our prayers and sympathy continue...
Lovingly,

Matt and Katy:
We just heard about your tragic loss of your son Caleb. We can't imagine what you are going through. We all know our goal is Heavenbound, but we on earth do the suffering. To lose a child is so sad.
Katy I think the last time we saw you was at Bob Tuttle's calling hours in Marion, OH. You were part of Stephanie (our daughter)growing up with the BYF at Trinity Baptist Church. We will now think of you often and keep you uplifted in our prayers.
He is sleeping in the arms of Jesus now.
So sorry for your loss.

I just heard of your great loss and my heart is devestated for each of you and in the midst of your sorrow knowing the weight of your loss will be heavy to bear yet as a family you will share this grief and make the load lighter. May the Song of the Lord sooth your sorrow and remember all the laughter this little fellow brought into your lives and celebrate his life with you and now his life in the very presence of our Beloved Jesus. How brave each of you will be in the days ahead as you love one another and hug and kiss when it is hard and you miss your hugable son and brother. You are a beloved family that has touched my life with JOY and so many others as well...!!!

My heart aches for you all at this time. I think of you all often. And I remember the first time I met you, when you were visiting Baltimore with Josh and Caleb. They were only 4 and 5 at the time. I have the same memory as Pam when the boys were in the Eternity play, and I have a picture of Josh & Caleb in their angel costumes, which I'll drop in the mail to you. Caleb's face is lit up like the sunshine. He was a gift to us all. You will be in my prayers.

We wish we could write to you what we all feel in our heart about Caleb's passing. It must be the most difficult time in your life. Our prayers are with you all. But for Jesus, how can we manage life's tribulations?
Jesus who is with us heals the brokenhearted. It is in His name that I know you will take comfort and everlasting consolation and good hope through His Grace.

I am so sorry for all that has happened. I had a great time with Caleb this week. That boy has tuaght me more lessons in one week then anyone could have tuaght me in a lifetime. Thank you for letting me stay at the cabin with you guys. The time I had with him was short but it felt like he was a brother. I will never forget the hugs, kisses, and his big bright smile. He is smiling down on us from Heaven Now. The father is holding him now. He had the most faith that I have ever seen a little kid have. He changed my world and touched my heart He tried all week to learn how to make a ladder with his string and when he got it he was so happy. Now he gets to climb his ladder. May God be with you all.

When I received the news of Caleb's passing, I immediately saw him in my mind's eye at the age of about 5 years old. I was directing a church play for the first time and he & Josh were 2 of the angels. Their "job" was to REJOICE when people went to heaven.
The our little angels were supposed to be sitting and waiting to rehearse, and Caleb did his best to sit. But, it was SUCH A CHALLENGE, because he was just so excited! It brings a smile to my face when I remembered those eyes wide with wonder and full of the joy of the Lord. He truly blessed me and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to get to know him during that time.
Matt & Katy, my prayers are with you and your boys. As much as you know the Lord is with you, I'm sure you also know that your son affected every person who met him. In the process of your grief & missing him, I pray you'll also hold onto that truth--he made an IMPACT!
Love, Pam Atkins
