Oh how it saddened me this morning to learn of Carl's passing. Meg, my family lived up the street from you when you moved to Woodcrest. Of course I remember when Alex was born. You were wonderful neighbors. God bless you, God bless you.

Carl was a good friend while I worked with him at Harcourt. My family sends our condolences to you and we were all blessed to have known him. When my wife and kids would come up to work for lunch with me, Carl on many times joined us and my family grew quite fond of him. He will be missed.

Carl and I had fallen out of touch when I moved to Boston in 2000. Back in town now, I reached out to him only a few weeks ago for something random. I was shocked and saddened to learn of his health woes, but also quite thankful for a wonderful in-person, hour-long meeting at Gilchrist just last week. It was the same old Carl. Obviously much weaker, but the same sardonic sense of humor and wonderful outlook on life. My deepest condolences to his entire family. He will be missed.

I will always have fond memories of Carl. I had not seen him for many years and was so happy to re-connect with him at our reunion in 2010. After that it was great to keep in touch with him and see pictures of him and Meg on facebook. His great love for Meg was so evident in eveything he posted and said. I will always remember him as being one of the funniest and wittiest people I know. Also such a brave fighter during his illness. My condolences to his family.
