Carl was my R.C.I.A. teacher and a dear friend to my family. I remember stories my dad, the late Royal L. Johnson, used to tell me about playing cribbage with Carl in the teacher's lounge at KHS. Now dear Carl you join my parents in heaven and perhaps, you and dad once again are playing cribbage? You will be missed. God bless you Mary during this season of loss and change.

Carl had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. He was a gifted raconteur(despite that Baltimore accent) and I will always remember his tale about all saints, all souls, and "all sorts".I had the privlege of knowing him in the 70's when he was teaching Biology at St. Edward's.His love of science and Notre Dame had a significant impact on me as I later graduated from Notre Dame and chose a career in neuroscience. To this day,I still tell his joke about the wide-mouthed frog to any patient who's in need of a good laugh.

I was Taught by Carl in his RCIA class he and my family became really great friends. He confirmed many beliefs I had had. And will forever be a Mentor and one of the Dearest friends I've ever had. He loved Pigeons and people who were meek he found no fault in anyone. He and Beautiful Mary are generous and kind. Mary was Carls love he made that clear to anyone who talked to him for any length of time. They've helped me and my family so much. There's so much more I'm sure I really could go on for days. Our love to Mary Wingate everyone should feed pigeons in Carls memories for even they are missing him Today

Mr Wingate was a great French teacher and an interesting person who was not afraid to share his faith with everyone! I'm so glad I got to spend time with him in recent months and got to meet Mary. I'm sure he will be greatly missed but I look forward to meeting him in the resurrection!

I was a Baltimore class mate of Carl's. SCC59/SMS65. Our remaining class mates have been following his recent health issues and adding our prayers to yours for his recovery. As the Lord has chosen otherwise, we extend our fondest and deepest condolences and pray now for his eternal happiness and our reunion with him when it is our turn to pass from this life to eternal life. Requiescat in pace.
