Chris Bomhardt Obituary

BOMHARDT , Chris CHRIS BOMHARDT, devoted father and loving husband and son of Irene and Harry Bomhardt, passed away on Friday. March 21, 2008, after fighting a five year battle with bone marrow cancer. He was surrounded by his family and passed away quietly. He was a steelworker for more than 40 years at Bethlehem Steel, and was also a student and teacher of history. He served with the 1st Pennsylvania Rifle Company, "Bucktails" a Civil War Re-enactment unit dedicated to teaching and re-creating the war that shaped this country. His gift to us was in raising three fine sons into becoming good fathers themselves. He is survived by Phyllis Bomhardt, his wife and constant companion of 46 years. He is also survived by his sons and their wives and families. Zozscha and Chris Bomhardt, Jr., Beth and Kevin Bomhardt, and Kelly and Paul Bomhardt. Chris is also survived by his grandchildren, who loved their "Poppy" Kendal, Cidney, Myranda, Allison, Ethan and Maya.
A small memorial service will be held at Kaczorowski Funeral Home, P.A., 1201 Dundalk Avenue, on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cancer Institute of Mercy Medical Center in his name to help others less fortunate cope with cancer.
