Claire Justis Obituary

On April 5, 2025, Claire passed away peacefully at home in Catonsville at age of 92 due to dementia complications. She is survived by her Husband Chris of 73 years, their Son J. C Justis and his wife Jan. She was predeceased by their Daughter Jean J. Calambro.

She grew up on her Father Isaac's Alabama farm with her Mother Velma and her seven siblings. She enjoyed following her Father on the farm and especially picking wild blackberries. She graduated from Hayden High School in 1950 and came to Baltimore in 1951 to live with her Sister. Claire married Chris at Chapelgate Presbyterian Church on February 25, 1952. She had a beautiful smile and was very pretty and a great southern cook, took care of our children at home, church and events at Rollingwood pool. She loved flowers, gardening and holding kids' birthday parties. She joined in the fun at golf outings by driving the sandwich and beer cart. She was always willing to help people in need. She donated her remains for medical research and her ashes will be interned at McDonogh School next to the Target Memorial Chapel.

Services will be private. If you would like to make a gift in Claire's memory, please donate to your favorite charity or give flowers to homebound residents in her name.
