SIMS , Corey R. On July 27, 2010, Corey R. Sims; loving son of Kimberly Jefferson and Cyril R. Sims and one devoted brother Wendell Briggs. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends at the family owned Wylie Funeral Home P.A.; 638 N. Gilmor Street on Tuesday from 5-8 pm . Services will be held Wednesday August 4, 2010 at Unity United Methodist Church 1433 Edmondson Avenue; 10:30 am wake; 11:00 am funeral. Interment following. Inquiries at

Son my mind been a little off all week. I been thinking of you everyday. I miss you with all my heart. I will always love you. I think you always. I miss my rock. This day will be with me until the day I see you. Your brother will be having a daughter in September as she gets older she will know you as well. Yes your mom is a Gigi of two. Your brother is a great dad. We love you always.

Cuzzo I miss you man.. been over a decade.. still think about you till this day. I remember when we would be at aunt Rhonda´s house with the cousins outside all night just have a great time and laughing lol miss those times.. remember all the talks we had at a young age and you kept me away from a lot of trouble. Continue to watch over us all. you wasnt only just my cousin you were my big brother. Love you again.

On this day I prayed and poured all my heart out. Something I do every morning. I pray that God give us strength and keep all evilness away from our family. Son this world and city had change so much. You are in a better place than we are. I ask for you to cover our family with your wings and to keep us safe. Son, I ask you to watch over your brother and his beautiful family. I know you would have been so proud of him. You are one of God servers, keep serving greatly as you are. My son, I think of you every single day. I still have some down days but, most of all I smile. You are my shiny star as I sing my song. " I Wishing on a Star" by Rose Royce. As this day comes every year I try not to replay it in my head. I just wish I could had seen you grow older with us. I know you see the things that our family has been accomplishing. You would be proud of you brother. I pray everyday that my two angels (you and pop) watches over us. That nephew of yours is something. He is you and a lot of ways. I will speak of you forever. As I end this I pray that you glanced down and read this. You are truly loved and missed. Protect our family from all this evil that we have in this world.

Dear Corey, I know we don't yet know very much about life after death, but here you are experiencing it! I guess when we get to be where you are, you'll be able to introduce us to Jesus and show us around. I loved our times together. Remember we always had hot tea and you always had at least 2 big heaping spoonfuls of sugar in yours. I'm so proud of you and your amazing sacrifice for your friend. Just like Jesus, you gave your life for another so he can live. I hope everyone who knew you when you lived here will get to know who Jesus really is and love Him. I woke up from a nap and I was dreaming about you man. I remember us as kids growing up. Our mothers knew each other so we got close. Your family moved away while we was just getting into elementary school. A few months later we moved. I remember my first day of school, I was being walked into class and there you was. We grew up making it all the way to high school after that. We was supposed to be life long best friends. I wish I could call you and see how you are doing and catch up and just kick it man. Everyday I wake up and it's like i look forward to hearing from you and telling you about my college experience thus far but i can't and than I get upset.
