D. Scott Bushnell

D. Scott Bushnell, 68, of Oakland, MD, formerly of Baltimore, MD passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland. Born January 20, 1950, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late, Irving Edward and Lois Jean (Jones) Bushnell. Most recently, Scott was an Inn Consultant and Broker and a member of the Association of Independent Hospitality Professionals. He received his Master's Degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed his under graduate degree at the United States Military Academy at West Point, Company B-3. Upon his graduation from West Point, he served his country in the United States Army. Scott was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council. He was also a board member of the Garrett Cooperative Ministry. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Darlene (Lee) Bushnell; two sons, Joseph Alun Bushnell (Anna), Berlin, MD and Christian Scott Bushnell, Akron, OH; a daughter, Robin Ellen Ellis (Jim), Pearisburg, VA; a brother, Irving Edward Bushnell II (Lilly), Rockledge, FL; a sister, Jo Ellen Tompkins(Tommy), Clermont, FL; four grandchildren, Brody Bushnell, Hailey Bushnell, Gabe Ellis and Grayson Ellis; numerous cousins,nieces and nephews. At Scott's request he will be cremated. Friends will be received at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 6 S. Second St., Oakland, MD, 21550 on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. A service of remembrance will follow at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Dr. C. Scott Robinson officiating.
