Dana Faye Mack-Marcus

Dana Faye Mack-Marcus, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Born in Baltimore, MD, on October 8, 1966, to the late Frances Jefferson Mack and Fate Matthews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Matthew Lloyd Marcus, several siblings and her parents.

Dana attended Carver Vocational Technical High School, grew up in the Harlem Park neighborhood. A "social butterfly" with a sharp wit. She briefly attended Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) and followed her passion for hairstyling. Dana met the love of her life, Matthew Lloyd Marcus, in 1985 and was married in 1995. They would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on August 26, 2025.

Dana was a dedicated public health employee for the state of Maryland before retiring in 2021 to care for her husband. She later returned to work with the Maryland Department of State Police's Forensic Services Division.

A true entrepreneur, she also founded Karetakers of Kolor, a not for profit initiative dedicated to helping people of color impacted by cancer. Dana, will be remembered for her greatest joy in being a loving mother to her son, Christopher, family, friends, traveling, and cooking.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Marcus, as well as her siblings, Margaret Owens, Gerleane Robinson, Richard Mack, Wendell Lee, and Kim Mack and a host of nieces, nephews, sister friends, extended family and other friends.

• Viewing: Friday, August 29, 2025, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at March Life Tribute Center, 5616 Old Court Rd, Windsor Mill, MD 21244.

• Funeral Service: Saturday, August 30, 2025. Wake - 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Funeral - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Interment: King Memorial Park, 8710 Dogwood Rd, Baltimore, MD 21244.
