David Kidd

David H. Kidd, age 62, passed away at his home in Baltimore, MD on 30 October, 2023 after a long and hard fought battle with heart failure. He is survived by his loving spouse, Patrick Komber, his siblings Teresa Howell, Charles Kidd, and Elizabeth Kidd, his nephews Zachary Kidd and Benjamin Kidd, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.



David grew up in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland and while he lived and traveled abroad, he called Baltimore home. David received a BA in Liberal Arts at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland and an MA in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University where he studied architectural history. In his early career, David worked in research at the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University School of medicine and co-authored several medical publications on spinal cord stimulation and the treatment of chronic pain.



From a young age, David had a great passion for art and architecture, pursuing and perfecting his gifted talents in the creation and restoration of fine art and architectural interiors. He studied his craft both here and abroad in Florence, Italy, and he taught art and art history extensively, including two years at the University of Tromso, Norway and the London School for Decorative Painting, as well as a number of master classes in Paris, Rome, Florence, and Oslo in painting and restoration. He sang beautifully, loved classical music and the performing arts, and very much enjoyed croquet matches at his alma mater St. John's College.



A memorial service for David will be held in the new year. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or a gift to Saint John's College, Annapolis, MD in his name.
