David Rudow Obituary

David B. Rudow, of Pikesville, MD, formerly of Roland Park, passed away on Monday, October 4th, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 65 amazing years, Vivian Adelberg Rudow; survived also by his sons, William Mark (Gillian Nancy) Rudow, Stephen Lee Rudow, and Leonard Hollins (Melissa Dawn) Rudow; grandchildren, Alexandra Lauren Rudow, Michael Harrison Rudow, Hannah Joy Wallenberger Rudow, Mollie Paige Rudow, David Carl Rudow, and Max Hollins Rudow; sister in law Janet Adelberg Davis. He was predeceased by his sister, Janice Gold; parents, Solomon E. and Mollie Eleanor Rudow; and brother in law, R. David Adelberg.

David Rudow leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. David attended the University of Maryland, obtaining first his bachelors degree and then his Juris doctorate there. His natural leadership abilities shined as he served as president of his fraternity at UMD. Following school he developed a successful career as an attorney utilizing his CPA degree, law experience and his business acumen to analyze financial problems in his own unique way. After years of success as an IRS field agent, he practiced as an attorney specializing in business and tax law for 60 years with the law firm Adelberg Rudow, and took great pride in solving problems for his clients. His ability to achieve goals and lead others translated into his personal life as well. David volunteered much of his time to his synagogue, serving as president of the Har Sinai Brotherhood, and as president of Har Sinai Congregation. He also founded and served as president of the Roland Park Community Foundation.

Mr. Rudow was very active in the Baltimore City Homeowner's Coalition for Fair Property Taxes which promoted legislation such as the city's Homestead Tax Credit; the Baltimore Efficiency and Economic Foundation which is dedicated to helping the city operate more efficiently and effectively; and Project Scope which was a forerunner of the current Vacants To Value program that created a method for the city to sell government owned properties so they could be returned to productive use.

He was a longtime member of LAI, an organization of real estate professionals, and was honored by the Baltimore chapter as Member of the Year in 2013 for his pro bono legal counsel. He was also very active in numerous legal and accounting professional groups, including The Group.

Everyone who knew David found a friend in him, always popular and easy to connect with, there was never hesitation to ask him for help and he would always come through for them. He loved his family above all else, listening to his wife Vivian play piano was one of his greatest pastimes. A great card player and avid boater and fisherman, David enjoyed taking time to rest and spend time with his family. He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, father in law, grandfather, son, and friend. May his memory be for a blessing always.

Services at Har Sinai Cemetery, 11405 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD, 21117, on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021 at 12:00 pm. Please omit flowers. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Rudow for 17 years...he will be deeply missed by all. When I spoke to my children and told them he had passed, they both had such great remembrances about coming to the office and meeting him. My most deepest sympathies his family and his friends.

I wrote poems for my husband. In time you will compose an elegy for David. It will be thoughtful, joy filled, deep, and quiet. He will always be with you. Marcia Kurland Miller.

Closest of friends for 55 years. A gentleman of valor, mentor, fishing buddy, more like a brother. My heart goes out to Vicki and all of the family. No doubt, the memory of David will always be for a blessing.
