Dennis White Obituary
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and then obtained his Medical Degree from the Johns Hopkins School Medicine in Baltimore, MD. Dr. White also served his country in the United States Navy. Early in his medical career he worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, MD. In the early 1970's his career brought him to the Eastern Shore of Maryland first working at the Memorial Hospital at Easton and in 1977 he became the Chief of Radiology Services at the former Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge, MD. Dr. White was a dog lover, an avid lover of jazz music and played the piano. In his free time, Dr. White loved to hunt and fish and it was during one of his fishing trips, he found his dream home on the Wye River. This would remain his home until his passing. In 1992, Dr. White returned to the University of Maryland Hospital and the VA Medical Center and remained there until his retirement. Dr. White enjoyed spending his summers at his family's cabin on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Dr. White is survived by his brother Terry White, his nieces Stephanie Jacobs and her husband Don and their children, Ann Connelly, a special cousin David White and his wife Jane, other family members, friends and his long-time secretary and friend, Sheryl Groce.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Queen Anne's County Animal Services, 201 Clay Drive, Queenstown, MD 21658.
