Rev Dominic W. Maruca S.J.

94, died at Manresa Hall, Merion Station, PA on 27 August 2022. Father was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Catherine (Varra) Maruca, brother Anthony and sister Angela Fenton. He is survived by his brother Rocco, sister-in-law Sally Maruca, devoted nephews and nieces, and his Jesuit Brothers.

For many years Father Maruca's pastoral ministry focused on priestly and spirtiual formation. he was novice master at the St. Isaac Joques Novitiate in Wernersville, PA (1964-68). In 1979 he was assigned to Rome, where he taught at the Pontifical Gregorian University Institute of Spirituality (1979-97), was rector of the Jesuit House of Studies (1984-89), and served as a consultant for the Congregations for the Cases of the Saints and for the Sacraments and Divine Worship (1989-97). In 1977 Father returned to Baltimore, where he served as a spiritual director at the Center for Continuing Formation at St. Mary's Seminary (1997-2001) and then in campus ministry at Loyola University (2001-2011).

Visitation at Saint Matthias Church, 128 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 on September 1, 2022 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass will follow at 10AM (live-streamed at http://saintmatthias.org).

Private burial at the Jesuit Cemetery, Wernersville, PA.
