Kerry, Lizzy, Tommy, Terri, Meagan and Brant. I am so sorry for your loss. When I remember Aunt Bette it is always with a smile on her face talking about one of you. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Though I had 7 uncles in Pittsburgh on my Mom´s side it was always your family that we were closest to. My Dad had to see his brother and it was usually time spent with Aunt Bette rolling her eyes at their antics and their teasing of Aunt Esther. I remember them all sitting around the dining room table at my Mom´s house re-visiting their youthful antics and I can still hear them laughing and story telling. We would occasionally vacation with your family so Dad could see his little brother coach and Aunt Bette was always so welcoming. At times there were years between seeing yinz guys (just to remind you of your Dad´s roots) and it would be like no time had passed. Aunt Bette would continue to call my Mom to keep close even after their husbands had both been called to heaven before them. Most of their conversations centered around children and grandchildren. How do I know this? I know because every time I would speak to my Mom after she spoke with Aunte Bette she would tell me how Tommy´s company was doing. What was new with Meagan showing her horses. What Kerry was doing in her career and how well Lizzy was doing and what she was up to. She was so proud of all of you.
I am sorry that she suffered from Alzheimer´s. It is a horrible disease that steals our loved one´s mind while crippling their body. It was so sad to see my Dad go through it and I am sure you endured the same frustrations. My heart goes out to you. It is always heart wrenching to lose a parent, but you can have the peace of knowing that Aunte Bette knew the Lord. She was never hesitant to share her faith and was an inspiration to so many.
I am sorry for your loss, but I am rejoicing in the knowledge that Aunt Bette is now in the presence of our Lord. If there is anything that we can do for you, please let us know.
This is how I remember Aunt Bette and Uncle Dave. This picture was on my parent´s wall for as long as I can remember and I took it when we cleaned out Mom´s house.
Love you all, Pam.
