Florette Erlanger

Florette Geraldine (Freedman) Erlanger of Timonium, Maryland, passed away on September 20, just shy of her 95th birthday. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Richard; her daughters, Melissa and Linda (Margret), and her son, Donald (Mariko). She was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Samuel Freedman, her sister Miriam Levi and her son, Steven. Also survived by 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Flo graduated from Forest Park High School in 1949. Prior to meeting Dick, Flo worked for an employment agency, and in 1964, Flo and Dick opened their family jewelry business, Erlanger's, which remained a strong presence in the Pikesville community until its closing in 1985. Flo loved spending time with her lifelong and more recent friends, played mahjong with joy, and celebrated fun times throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those who were fortunate to know her. In these past several years, Flo had devoted caretakers who treated her as family: Penny, Keisha and Paulette. The family is eternally grateful for them and for the Gilcrest hospice team that provided wonderful care and support these past few months.

Graveside services and internment was held at Oheb Shalom Memorial Park, 430 Berrymans Lane, Reisterstown, MD on Monday, Sept 22 at 12 pm. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to Gilchrist Hospice at gilchristcares.org
