Francis Andrew Maggitti

Francis Andrew Maggitti 82, passed away on Dec. 24th. 2020 of Fallston MD, formally from Highlandtown

He was battling Stage IV Lung Cancer since March 2015. He was rushed to Upper Chesapeake Hospital on Sunday December 20th where he was tested positive for COVID 19 and Pneumonia. He passed away peacefully at the hospital on December 24th, 2020.

He was born to the late Andrew Maggitti and Laura Graziaplana Maggitti. He was the youngest of five. He was a loving brother to the late Marino Maggitti and his late wife Helen Maggitti, the late Josephine Maggitti-Pietrogiacomo and her late husband Vincent Pietrogiacomo, Ida Maggitti-Ruggiero and her late husband James Ruggiero, the late Lucy Maggitti-Wright and her late husband George "Bob" Wright. Also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, relatives and good friends.

Francis Andrew Maggitti was the devoted and loving father of his three daughters, Laura Marie Maggitti- Willard, her husband Donald "Chip" Lee Willard, Michele Angero Maggitti and Angela Joyce Maggitti. He was a loving and devoted Grandfather of his three Grandchildren, Meghan Marie Willard- Phillips and husband Eric Phillips, Brandon Lee Willard and wife Sarah Willard, Aaron Willard and girlfriend Kristalynn Brinkley. He was a loving and devoted Great Grandfather of, Alayna Grace Phillips, Jacob Ryan Phillips and the newest addition Noah Lee Willard. They all meant the world to him.

Dad graduated from Patterson High School in 1957. He was a likable chap! As stated in his high school yearbook. He enlisted in the Marines 1958. He worked at H & S Bakery and Bethlehem Steel. When he stopped working at those jobs, he started working at The Baltimore Sun full time in 1976-2013 and Montgomery Ward full time in the 1970s-1990s. Do not know where he got his energy from with working 2 full time jobs at the same time. He also helped some friends at Local 19 Stagehand whenever they needed it. Dad has always been such a hard worker and dependable they would always call him when they needed an extra hand. When Montgomery Wards closed in the 1990's dad started working full time at Gardiner Furniture at that time, where he met his new work family. He worked there until 2018 which at that time he was forced to stop working because of his health issues. He started treatment in 2015 which he continued to work through it all.

Francis Andrew Maggitti loved his sports, especially baseball. He inflicted his love of baseball on all who knew him. He was an avid Oriole fan. He was also a history buff who loved to read history books and loved to travel. He would talk to you about the history of Baltimore and all over the world.

My dad Francis Andrew Maggitti was my hero. Some of you known him as DAD, GRANDPOP, FRANCIS, FRANK, FRANKIE, FRANNIE AND MIDGE. He was the hardest worker I've known. He always was working hard to provide for his family and to give us a good life, which he did. He was made to work and that is what he did. We love you TREMENDOUSLY dad and you will be in our hearts always and forever.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 19th, 2021 at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 3600 Claremont Street from 10am-12 noon at which time a Funeral Mass will begin. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. Those desiring to attend mass and if going to the cemetery please park at Zannino's Funeral Home parking lot at 263 S. Conkling Street.
