Frank George Kukla

Frank George Kukla, age 85 of Forest Hill passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. Frank was married to Sharon Lee Kukla (Burton) on August 29, 1986. Frank was born on December 22, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa, he was one of 4 children of the late Joseph Kukla and Edna (Higgins). He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph, sister Shirley and brother Edward and brother-in-law Melvin W. Burton, Jr. He graduated from high school in Chicago, Illinois in 1957 and after college credits got a job at Western Electric in 1959 and worked up to Management Training supervisor. After 30 plus years he retired in December 1989. After retiring he worked a couple part time jobs and volunteered at church and especially with hospice for over 25 years. He loved giving back. He enjoyed reading, music, coin collecting, bird watching each morning, sitting on the front porch and enjoying people watching. Also, he enjoyed Ocean City, Maryland where he loved to walk the boardwalk and go shopping at the outlets with Sharon.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, mother-in law Shirley Burton, brother Kenneth Kukla, brother-in-law Michael Burton and his wife Kathy. Along with niece Jeanine Marie (Burton) Ray and her husband Keith and son Connor; niece Kristen Michelle Burton and her children Cassie Burton, Haydn Burton and Wyatt Slobozien; niece Danielle Burton and daughter McKenna and nephew Michael Burton and son Evan.

Also survived by his daughter Karen (Kukla) Zinkhan and her children Aaron Zinkhan and wife Megan and their daughters Laine Rae and Blake Erin, Shelby (Zinkhan) Galinski and her husband Lt Colonel Jon Galinski and their daughters Ava Lee and Isla Rae; his son James Kukla and his wife (Jee-Hye) and his children Adam James and Natalie Kathleen.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church-1450 Abingdon Road, Abingdon, Maryland 21009.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
