Gerald Saroken Obituary
Jerry was born and raised in Mount Kisco, NY. Growing up, he was a professional bowler and a nationally ranked racquetball player. He loved all sports and was a born entrepreneur. After serving in Vietnam he went to work in his family's furniture business which he would take over and grow. He would later make a career switch and work in the world of finance ultimately becoming a Senior Vice President of wealth management at Merrill Lynch in NY. He loved spending time at the casino, playing poker, watching sports, going out for nice dinners, and more than anything he loved being with family and friends. He was a truly extraordinary father, father in law, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He spent the last four years of his life in Baltimore.
Services will be held at Bet Torah Synagogue, 60 Smith Ave, Mt Kisco, NY 10549, on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at 1 pm. Interment at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, New York. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the Baltimore Station, 140 W. West Street, Baltimore, MD 21230 or Soul Center at Beth El, 8101 Park Heights Avenue, Pikesville, MD 21208. Shiva on Thursday after the burial at Bet Torah with a minyan at 7pm. Shiva on Friday morning will be in Manhattan. Shiva will resume (after Shabbat) on Sunday through Wednesday in Baltimore. I dealt poker to Jerry for the past 18 years and he was always respectful and funny guy . I will definitely miss him. My condolences to the family and friends. Rest in paradise Jerry.

My condolences to the entire Saroken Family on the transitioning of your Loved One. Jerry was not just an advisor but a friend. Although our hearts may ache, we have hope that Jerry is with the God of Creation and this separation is temporary. We shall see him again; this is not the end. May God comfort all of us as we adjust to his physical absence. Praying for the Family.

I played poker with Jerry for years, having first met him about 20 years ago at a poker game. He really loved to play cards and to watch sports while doing it! Jerry brought a lot of life to the games, and was quite a character. He also would always be the first to ask how my wife and kids were doing. My condolences to the family. May his memory be a blessing.

My sincere condolences to Rabbi Dana Saroken and the entire Saroken family. I knew and worked with your dad briefly as his caregiver and he was amazing especially on my last shift with him. Thanks so much for trusting me to take care of him. He was a great dad and grandfather. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Gerald was my parents financial advisor, and then he took care of my husband and my finances. What I remember is that there was a strong knowledge that he cared about our family and took CARE of us. And now his wonderful son, Brian is doing the same. Our True Condolences to his entire family.
