Dr. Harry Friedman, of
Pikesville, MD, passed away on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving sons, Robert (Ilise) Friedman, Brett (Jacki) Friedman, and Landon Friedman (Deanna Figiel); and adoring grandchildren, Merek Friedman, Jensen Friedman, Zachary Friedman, Anders Friedman, Beale Friedman, Phair Friedman, and Dehle Friedman. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joannie Friedman (nee Lewis); caring brother, Neil Friedman; and his devoted parents, Jeannette and Raphael Friedman.
Harry was a proud native of the Baltimore area and 1956 graduate from Baltimore City College where he competitively swam and won an MSA title in the 50-meter butterfly; his aquatic talents often displayed for friends and family throughout the years at Windsong Court. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1960 before turning his attention to dentistry, graduating from University of Maryland at Baltimore Dental School in 1965 (though most would be surprised to know becoming an actor was what he truly wanted to be). Married just prior to his enlistment as a U.S. Navy Dental Officer, he had brief stints in shipyards outside of Chicago, Illinois and Boston, Massachusetts before his return to the Baltimore area to raise his family. He ran a dental practice that spanned over seven decades, first off Liberty Road in Randalstown, Maryland, and then later at Woodholme Medical Center in
Pikesville, Maryland, where he was innovative and always on the leading edge of implementing technology into his practice, including digital rays and photography, implants, and other advanced dental treatments, ever-focused on a patient's smile outcome. When not improving upon the community's teeth, Harry could be spotted at TCBY for lunch or with a 7-11 Slurpee as an after-work treat. His passions, other than his beloved family, ranged from various racket sports, skiing, skeet shooting (a decorated multi medal winner in his age bracket), watching the Baltimore Orioles and Colts, now the Ravens, as well as fine dining, poolside snowballs, and Broadway shows, trips to Aspen, Colorado and New York City, and most recently luxury European cruises. Known as Sabih for almost the last thirty years, he cherished his life and the people who filled it, especially his seven grandchildren, and his spirit, intellect, and wisdom will sorely be missed. He truly lived life to the fullest and would not have slowed down had death not stopped him.
