We had a super weekend celebrating Mom's birthday and with Aunt Jeanne and Aunt Lori in town, that made the party extra special. Eich's and sour beef would have been the icing on the cake. I'll miss you. We'll all keep close to Mom and make sure that she is OK. Love, Joyce

It is hard to believe that the first time I met Mr. Smit was over thirty years ago when Art had us drop by his house before unannounced to his family. I couldn't help but be impressed with how Mr. Smith welcomed this bunch of college kids into his home. On subsequent visits later, we were always greeted by his warm hospitality. And now as far back as I can remember, I looked forward to seeing him, his wife and the family at Art's for the annual Veterans Day Oyster Fest. Mr. Smit would enchant and enlighten us with tales of Art and the family; often-bringing smiles and laughter to all that were fortunate to be close enough to hear. From my small portion of the world, he will be missed. My deepest sympathy to the Smit family, friends and relatives.

Although I only met Mr. Smit once I can attest to the fact that he and his wife raised a beautiful bunch of children. Being good friends with Joyce I can say that I have not met too many people who can equal her generosity and kindness. I offer my condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the entire family.
