Hubert Thomas "Tom" Bily Jr.

1937 - 2018

Hubert "Tom" Thomas Bily, passed peacefully in his sleep on September 9, 2018.

Tom was born in Devil's Lake, North Dakota on July 29, 1937. He moved to Sitka, Alaska with his parents and brother when he was 15. They then moved to Kirkland, Washington two years later where Tom graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1955.

After high school, Tom attended Seattle University and graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor's Degree. Tom then took a position at Boeing directly after graduating. That same year he joined the U.S. National Guard and was given an honorable discharge after his five-year tour.

Tom met Bonnie Knower while working at Boeing in 1960 and they married a year later on October 7, 1961.

Tom took a job at GM, Chevrolet Division, starting in 1967 until his retirement in 1999. He was a District Manager of Auto Sales at his time of retirement. While working for Chevrolet, Tom was awarded several trips for outstanding sales and he and Bonnie traveled to several destinations such as Hawaii, Mexico, St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, Italy, and England.

Tom's job with Chevrolet had him moving several times before he and his wife Bonnie finally settled in Eugene, Oregon in 1993.

Tom was a proud member of the St. Henry's Catholic Church choir and volunteered for the children's reading program at Creslane Elementary School in Creswell, Oregon.

Tom is survived by his wife Bonnie, his three sons Jon, Scott, and Neil Bily, his brother Jim Bily, and his two grandchildren Kyle and Ila Bily.

Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Dexter, Oregon.
