Hubert Merrill Cole Jr.

Hubert Merrill Cole, Jr., age 83, of Bel Air, MD passed away on April 29, 2023 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born at Fort Sill, OK, he was the son of Colonel Hubert Merrill Cole and Elizabeth Mary (Fenlon) Cole. Hubert was raised in Pelham, NY and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. As a civilian mechanical engineer for the U.S. Army, Hu worked at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ; Fort Monmouth, NJ; and finally, Aberdeen Proving Ground where he retired.

Hubert is survived by his wife of 12 years, Patricia Cole; son, William Cole; daughter-in-law, Midge Cole; grandchildren, Elizabeth Cole, William Cole, Jr., Joshua Cole, and Michelle Cole; great grandchildren, Tobias Cole and Marigold Cole; and sister, Elizabeth Mullen.

Visitation will be held under the caring guidance of the family owned and operated McComas Family Funeral Home in Bel Air, MD on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 5-7pm. A service will follow at 7 pm. Interment will be at Bel Air Memorial Gardens on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11 am.
