Iris Park Obituary

Iris Warren Park, age 96, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, in Pensacola FL, after a long and full life. Born in Garland NC, Iris was the daughter of Abel Warren and Mary Caison Warren. Iris grew up in Garland, spent a year at Peace College in Raleigh NC, then went on to Smith College in Northampton MA, where she completed a degree in Sociology in 1951 (Magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). After moving to Boston after graduation, she met her future husband, Edward Chin Park at a social event at Harvard College. They wed in 1957 and moved to Baltimore MD. In the early 1970's, after having two children (one who was just recently born at the time), Iris returned to school at Loyola College and became a Certified Public Accountant. Armed with her CPA and a mathematical & organized mind, she enjoyed a successful 20-year career as the Controller at Rothschild / Pell Rudman (a subsidiary of United Asset Management), retiring in 1997. While in Baltimore, Iris enjoyed her membership at the Towson Unitarian Universalist Church (serving as their Treasurer for a number of years), The Cosmopolitans, and Smith College Book Club. In 2018, Iris and Ed moved to Pensacola FL to live with their daughter and family. Over her life, she was singularly devoted to the current and future welfare of her family. Her family and friends were very dear to her. Iris is survived by her two children, David Park and his wife, Fiona Park, of New Canaan CT, and Dr. Marianne Tullus and her husband, Bud Tullus, of Pensacola FL; and four wonderful grandchildren – Olivia Rardin (Park) and her husband Nic Rardin, Daniel Park, David Tullus, and Gunnar Tullus; and generations of extended family. In addition to her parents and Ed, Iris was preceded in death by her siblings Mac, Calvin, and Mary Allen.
