Isak Danon Obituary
Isak was a Holocaust survivor who escaped to Italy and was among approximately 1,000 people brought to the United States during the war. He lived in an internment camp in upstate New York until the war ended. Isak will be remembered for his remarkable perseverance, enduring optimism, and deep devotion to his family and community.
Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel 8900 Reisterstown Road Pikesville, MD 21208, on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Interment Garrison Forest Cemetery of Chizuk Amuno Congregation. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to US Holocaust Museum, Imadi, or Chizuk Amuno Congregation. Please check Sol Levinson's website for updated Shiva information.

We are so sad that Isak, or Mike as we know him, has passed. He was a remarkable person in so many ways. His positive attitude about life especially after having suffered the tragedy of the holocaust and his first wife´s death was inspiring. He had an incredible energy and a zest for life. No one could `cut a rug´ like he did (except for his sister Sarah.) He was so proud of his three beautiful and accomplished children and his devoted wife Leah. It was always a pleasure to talk with him. He will be missed. May his memory be for a blessing.

Isak probably wouldln't remember me, but I remember him. I worked at the JCC in the membership department and had the pleasure of welcoming him to the center. I never knew he was a survivor, but I certainly could sense his optimism and warm demeanor. In reading the JMore article about his life, I was heartened to hear about his resilience and amazing story. I also felt a connection as my own father, who was born in 1929, lived in North Philadelphia, graduated with a business degree from Temple and served in the Korean War. I wonder if they crossed paths and I am sorry I never got the chance to ask. May Isak's exceptional memory be only for a blessing for all of your family.
