The world has suffered a great loss. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Dr. Williams’ family, friends, and patients. I was his patient in December, 2001. I have never encountered a doctor who was so accessible, caring, compassionate and dedicated. He was indeed a role model for the medical profession. He was a specialist in his field, but had the soul of a generalist. He cared about each and every one of his patients. What a difference he made in the lives of so many. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know him. He was so very special and will be forever missed.

Thanks be to God for having placed Jeffrey Williams on this earth. His dedication to his medicine clearly showed to all of us who were desperate to find a cure for our malady. Dr. Williams provided that cure with his expertise. I will be forever grateful to have been one of his patients. When a death like his occurs, the whole world loses.

What a terrible loss. Dr. Williams treated me for an acoustic neuroma six years ago. Tried to convince him he ought to take some time off and come visit beautiful Montana but he was so devoted to his patients and medicine it was obvious he wasn't going to take time for himself. For those who loved him, I will keep you in my prayers.

Dr.Williams treated me for an acoustic nueorma in May 2000. At a time when I was faced with confusion and despair, he provided me with clarity and hope. He continued to be there for me always.
He will be missed beyond comprehension. He was the model for all doctors and all people.

When I found out this very sadden news, I cried for hours in the loss of this great man. I've never met Dr. Williams. My husband was scheduled to see him on June 18. We found his great work from the web and lead us to believe he was the "right" doctor. He was so responsive and caring. We are sadden by not having a chance to meet him and treated by him. We are especially sadden by the fact that his family, John Hopkins community and all the patients that have lost this "God's Angel". I know he is in a better place than us and May God take good care of his family and friends.

I met Dr. Williams in March of 2001, and received FSR treatment under his direction for an acoustic neuroma in May 2001. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the John Hopkins community for their loss. I am sure that I am echoing the words of all of his patients when I say that Dr. Williams was one of the most caring and compassionate persons that I have ever met. I recall the day I first met him. Of course, I was nervous and very distressed by the series of events. Dr. Williams immediately made me feel as though he had known me for years. I will never forget the times that he sat with me after a treatment session just to ensure I was OK for my drive back to Alexandria.
I am truly blessed to have known him and to have bee under his care the past 18 months. I know that he is still with; and I want his family to know that he was truly a wonderful person.

I've never met Dr. Williams in person, but I have inundated him with numerous questions that he so graciously answered for me. I can say that he was the most caring and humane doctor that I have ever communicated with. I'm so very saddened for the loss of such a great human being. People like Dr. Williams don't come into our lives very often, and it's people like him that make the world a much better place to live in.
My deepest condolences to his family.

I never met Dr. Williams, yet he was one of the most available and responsive doctors I've ever known. His life's work makes me believe that we are winning this war against brain tumors. In the event of a recurrence, I now know enough to know that I would have travelled to Baltimore to be his patient. Still, I would likely go there to benefit from his legacy. The world is a poorer place without him. The world is a richer place for his having made a genuine contribution. What a wonderful person!

I want to express my deepest sympathy to all the people that DR Williams left behind. I spent last summer with Dr getting radiation treatments to a brain Tumor. He was so very kind and comforting. I Thank god for him and his program. I had already been thru conventional surgery and the fact that I had an option when the Tumor started to grow again was a blessing. God Bless Dr Williams and I am sure he has one of the best seats at the table in Heaven.

Dr. Williams was more than a doctor to those who's lives he touched. He gave us hope for a better life, after brain tumors. He cared about our "quality" of life and he answered our e-mails! He even called us at home. Can you imagine a doctor in this day and age who took the time to communicate personally with each and everyone of his patients, WORLDWIDE?!
I was blessed to have been able to be treated by Dr. Williams in April, 2002 and I am saddened by those who will not be able to benefit from his wonderful professional, but human approach to medicine. He was there everyday of my treatment, coaching me through the process and then sitting down with me afterward in case I had any questions or concerns that he could address. I have never in my life met anyone quite like Dr. Williams and the world has suffered a great loss by his passing.

My deepest condolances to Dr. Williams' family, friends, staff and the medical community of Johns Hopkins. The loss of such a gifted healer and humanitarian is beyond comprehension. Dr. Williams was all things to any individual who crossed his path. He was a compassionate and devoted individual who put his patients before himself. He was high on a pedestal to those of us who met him and were treated by him. When I met him in January, 2000, and elected to wait and watch for my small AN, as he walked me to the elevator, I said "Now Dr. Williams - you don't have any plans to retire before my treatment do you?" With his signature smile he said "of course not". Dr. Williams will watch over us and guide us, and somehow instill in our minds and hearts, our next course of action. Rest gently in the heavenly arms of our Father my dearest friend.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Jeff Williams. Although I never met Dr. Williams, I am eternally indebited to him for his founding of the pituitary tumor community on MSN, which has provided me with life-changing information during a difficult time. He single-handedly served as the manager of the site, and the community has grown tremendously under his careful watch. Although we never met, I feel like the world has lost a great spirit and I have somehow lost a friend. May God bless him and his loved ones.

I was treated for Acoustic Neuromas by Dr. Williams one month ago. One might ask why so many tears over someone you knew for such a short time. I am legally blind and the thought of losing my hearing also was frightening. Then I found a medical prioneer with a dedication to his patients that was indescribable. There are but a few dctors in the Babe Ruth league and Dr. Williams most assuredly was one. Fewer still who have that "MagnificentObsession". I am grateful to have known him and I know God has a special seat for him in heaven. Tacey Balboa Island,CA

I was treated by Dr. Williams in November of 2000. Both my husband and I were continually put at ease by his caring, understanding manner, and his comprehensive knowledge of acoustic neuromas. I just sent him my 18 month follow-up MRI and received his positive response. He gave us hope when there was nothing but despair. We thank the Lord for leading us to this gentle, caring man. And we pray for the comfort of his family and friends.

What impressed me most about Dr. Williams was his approachability and humanity. His great warmth and understanding eased my fears and helped me approach the treatment of my acoustic neuroma with confidence and hope for a successful outcome. So far, thanks to his pioneering vision an outstanding skills, that successful outcome has been realized. I owe him a deep debt of gratitude, and will miss him until the end of my days.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Dr. Williams' untimely death. My sympathy to his family, friends, co-workers and fellow patients. Dr. Williams was so special. I had FSR with him in November ,1999 after several other doctors told me my meningioma was too large for radiosurgery alone. Dr. Williams disagreed and was so thorough in going over all the pros and cons. I had just mailed him my latest MRI and emailed him late on Friday, May 24. I thought it was strange that I had not received a reply by the next day (which was always the case).
After hearing the news yesterday I found myself crying on and off all day for the many people who will never have the chance to meet him and benefit from his knowledge and dedication. He was a wonderful doctor and will be missed.

I was so shocked to hear about Dr. Jeffrey Williams sudden death that I haven't been able to take much of a break from crying. He helped me during my darkest hour. He gave me hope and encouragement. He was my Knight in Shining Armor and from the moment I met him I felt as though I had known him all my life.
Even more than his extraordinary brilliance what I found so impressive and will always remember was his kindness, his compassion, the way he would touch my shoulder and that every-present smile upon his face. I will never forget the day I met with him about my breast cancer which had spread to my brain and how he looked me straight in the eye and told me that this was something that could definitely be taken care of. And he was right. Through his procedure and because of him I no longer have those tumors. I was due to meet him for another follow up in just 3 short weeks.
He was a special man. An incredible man. Words really can't express how I felt about him and will always feel about him. He will be in my heart always.

Dr. Williams was kind enough to read my MRI in April, 2002, and offer his suggestion of treatment for me when diagnosed with a meningioma. I have not begun treatment of any kind yet as I am on a wait and see watch. I joined the List of Mates and observed the outstanding character of the doctor in all he did with and for the people who came into contact with him as well as those who were fortunate to be treated by him.
I considered him a "Gift from God". He was here only a short time but did much for patients not only as a surgeon but as a pioneer/inventor of life-saving radiation therapy.
He was appreciated by many and will be missed by all. A talented, caring, dedicated, loving doctor and a man to be admired in the short while he was on earth. He gave his all.
My prayers and condolences to his family, co-workers and friends.

It is with shock and sadness to learn that we have lost Dr. Williams. He did a free consultation for me as he did for so many. I valued his opinion and it helped me with my decision.
I was so touched by his caring manner to all. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and dear friends. He will be missed.

I was treated by Dr. Williams 6 months ago for an Acoustic Neuroma. Just this week I had my 6 month MRI and Audiogram. Only today (Thursday) did I find out he died. I am so saddened. I went through a difficult time when I was diagnosed 7 months ago. When I met him it was like God sent me an angel Dr. He was so positive and very encouraging. Never did I meet a Dr. who answered e-mails and was so kind and compassionate. The Lord used him to get me through the most difficult time in my life. I will greatly miss him and am so blessed to of known him and been treated by him. my heart goes out to his family and I will be praying for them and everyone at Hopkins.

My heart goes out to the friends and family of Dr. Williams.I was treated by him with FSR 18 months ago and so I add an excerpt of this poem taking the liberty to make some channges:
"Did you know you were brave, did you know you were strong?
Did you know there were many leaning hard?
Did you know that we waited and listened and prayed
And were cheered by your simplest
word?
Did you know that we longed for that smile on your face,
For the sound of your voice ringing true?
Did you know we grew stronger and better because
we had merely been treated by you?
I am glad that I live, that I battle and strive, for that place I know I must fill;
I am thankful for sorrows,I'll meet with a grin, what fortune may send good or ill.
I may not have wealth, I may not be great, but I know I shall always be true,
For I have in my life that courage you gave
When once I was treated by you."

To my best friend and a doctor that was given a gift of knowledge to pass to our future in treating many with the Fractionated Stereotactic Radiosurgery. Your expertise, preciseness, and the thoughtfulness and kindness you gave to all around you can never be replaced. I will remember you with each email you sent, and each picture I see together with you at the Varian Machine. May God take care of you, I'll never forget you.
