Joan was always kind to me. I remember the best Thanksgivings at her house with all the Rosensteel siblings and their offsprings.
For a few years it was all about poor slightly senile Mrs Jira (Joan´s MIL) who prided herself on providing the turkey. Joan found out it had been stuffed and left on her washing machine for several days before it made her oven. Joan would deftly switch the old turkey for Joan´s freshly roasted one with a wink and a smile. I don´t think Mrs Jira ever caught on. Bless you Joan. Happy memories for me.
